Rainy Monday
Grace woke up sick today. She stayed home from school and I took her to the doctor this afternoon. The flu. No strep this time. She is very sleepy and is happy to just be horizontal. Ahna is practicing the flute. She is wonderful. And Grace had her softball assessment this past Saturday (very cold and windy but sunny). Grace was amazing. She had just come from riding, changed clothes, put on her mit and was ready of everything. Very cool.
I've been thinking about art a lot.
Creating. Painting.
Feeling the brush on canvas. paper. wood.
I've been knitting light pink wool/cotton a scarf that is just a bunch of different patterns. It's pretty. The needles are from dear old friends, Kyle and Marsha. I watched their son for a couple of weeks, actually brought him up from KY to CT several years in a row. Anyway, one year they brought me a lovely pair of needles. They are my favorite pair.
Taught knitting to a great group of kids after school. Some were experienced, I had had them several years in a row and I also had a lot of new children. It's lovely to see the experienced ones helping the novices. A couple learned knitting in the round but it was hard. They liked it once they got going. No major projects though.
The photo is of Ahna and Grace wearing hats that I knitted for them years ago. I love to see them don them year after year.
